Julie is happy and healthy living in Toronto. She has grown 2 companies: aurummedicine.ca with a busy integrative health clinic, free online health articles, and a fun App coming soon, and fruitstudio.co, a health food company with sustainably- sourced açaí in homes and restaurants across Toronto. She looks forward to the 2023 ski and snowboard season where you’ll find her in the snow! Happy Holidays! Amy, Matt, Teo and Indie Lee had a fun-filled 2022. For the first time as a foursome, they traveled to catch up with family & friends in Cancun, California (Disneyland & Legoland), Ottawa, Algonquin, Bruce Peninsula, Ohio, and Belleville. Teo and Indie, 5 and 3 now, are best friends and fellow foodies, sharing a love of cars, hiking, biking, scootering, bowling, and anything else high-energy. HWANG FAMILY NEWSLETTER 2021-22  Once again, it's time to send you Hwang greetings from Canada across the continents, for a very Merry Christmas and a Prosperous New Year!!!. May the light of Christ, the newborn King, dispel the darkness caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, and usher in a bright new year 2022, full of hope and peace.  For each and everyone of you, my friend or relative, I will offer a prayer for health, love, joy, and hope. May the good Lord bless and keep you, may He make His face shine upon you, and be gracious unto you, and may He give you peace. The year 2021 brought a mixture of joys and challenges for Wai Chin.  The joys of course came from her extended family of grandchildren who totaled 7 in all.  Even though the pandemic has made it difficult for her to see her grandchildren regularly, she was able to see them, talk to them and watch them play through facetime, thanks to new technology.  She was really gratified to see Mia, doing her second...

2020 Hwang Newsletter

Dear Friends, Although 2020 has been a year unlike any other, we are blessed to be able to take pause and reflect on each of our highlights to share with all of our loved ones at this holy time of year. For Wai Chin, the 2020 year opened with a big celebration of her 70th birthday, at one of her favourite Chinese restaurants with many close friends and family members. The children and grandchildren gave speeches and sang songs, and Pauline arranged a video tribute with two players from Wai Chin’s favorite sports team, the Toronto Maple Leafs. Wai Chin particularly enjoyed performing a duet of “Winter Wonderland” together with Fr. Terry Galagher to cap off a most enjoyable evening. Sadly, a few months later, Wai Chin’s father, Weng Yup Hooi, passed away peacefully on May 22, at the age of 101½ years, with Wai Chin by his side, singing his favorite songs. The immediate family had a small but meaningful funeral service for him, with relatives from around the world joining in virtually via...
